Damn you, Nick Hornby! Why do you have to be so right?!!!

I heard this song a while back and I've been meaning to comment about it here, but alas, I've been sidetracked multiple times.

Well, not today.

Anyhoo...this is probably the most honest story I've heard in a very long time. And the saddest.

What do you think?

Song of the day: "From Above" - Ben Folds and Nick Hornby

I think that it is true in many respects, we often don't look up - we skip over or past so many people that could impact our lives as we get consumed in our Blackberrys or what have you... in the end though I don't believe that there is just one soul mate for each of us

I thought about what you said regarding soul mates and you may be on to something rather genius. Problem is, how does that affect the value of monogamy?

I believe there in lies the issue of choice. I do not believe there is just one person out there for us - and even if there was what happens if you miss them, they die, you die all that business do they or you spend the rest of your life sad and lonely?

I think there is more than one person, and you make a choice - if you think the person you are with is the right person for you then you marry them and say the hell with all the others - if you cannot say that about that person then I would ask you why are you still with them? In the end marriage is work - you commit yourself to the person you think is best for you in all ways and then love them for always with as much effort as that takes.

There is funny blog www.guidetowomen.wordpress.com, she discussed this whole the one business a few weeks back and there is a really funny Flight of the Concords "the one" clip on it too

Well, honesty wouldn't really be an issue if nobody takes issue with being polygamous. But you are right, it does come down to choice. Personally, I do like the idea of marriage. I think if you find the one that can tolerate your faults with your graces, then I'd say, the work is done.

@Victoria - Definitely sad. I can't really agree on the sweet. Perhaps poignant...

@SSW - Hello! Thanks for following me =). If it really is Karma, I'd have to figure out what I did in my past life that was so bad to cause Karma to make me miss my soul mate. Perhaps I was a Chicago mobster or something...
