More snow, part deux

Well, that was anti-climactic. The "perfect" storm that everybody was so worried about didn't even last that long today. By the afternoon, all the slush on the ground had melted. At most, six inches on the grass...and only because some of the old snow was still below the new one. Granted, I did get stuck going in the parental units' driveway, but that's neither here nor there. I seriously thought I would get another snow day out of that storm. Wouldn't you know it, the damn School Emergency Alert System canceled the inclement weather alert and opened the damn school @ 8 in the morning, but that didn't do me any good either way cuz I had to wake my sorry ass up @ 6 in the morning to dig my car out and shovel the driveway so I can be in the hospital by 7. Lemme tell you, that made the day feel like forever.

I WANTED MY SNOW DAY, DAMMIT! Seriously, Ol' Man Winter, don't get our hopes up like that. It's like what they say in the Olympics: Go big or go home! So next time, don't go half-assed about making it snow and just do it!

Song of the day: "Ne Me Quitte Pas" - Regina Spektor

You sound like a school kid praying for snow on the day of an exam... up here we know that is a pointless endeavor. Unless it's say the middle of March and you have a paper you need to finish at the library - then it will snow and the buses will stop running and you'll be screwed...

Have fun down there, it's cherry blossoms, and a typical spring of rain and wind up here.

In truth, I still feel like that school kid pleading for a snow day. I do so enjoy my extended weekend off. Still, the sound and feel of spring would be a welcome blessing. I'm tired of the snow and the cold. I'm ready for some baseball and lighter weather attire.
Hope the studying is progressing well and that the cinnamon buns turned out deliciously.

While spring it is here - it is likely to revert back to winter here - kill off whatever has been brave enough to bloom, and then summer will appear... oh the wet west coast has it's own agenda when it comes to the seasons.

The cinnamon buns got sidelined because I have no energy, I do know what I want to make tomorrow when I get the ingredients - hot cross buns!! Slightly healthier and still gives you that doughy snack to have with your mid morning second or third cup of coffee.

Tasty and health conscious. I haven't baked in a while. I suppose I'm about due. Lately I've been reduced to subsisting on granola bars, green apples and peanut butter. HCBs sound awesome w/ coffee.
